Sue White sings folk songs, mediaeval and renaissance songs, ballads, oldies, silly ditties; she is also a mezzo soprano of the highest calibre. But her first love is folk music, and especially Celtic folk music from Cornwall, Ireland and Scotland

Sue sings acapella, or accompanying herself on the guitar, bazouki or banjo. She has been making music all her life, and loves to engage with her audience - she considers music a sharing experience.

She has made several tours of Germany, and has sung in Czech Republic, France, Portugal, and Spain, as well as many folk festivals in England and Scotland. She made her first LP in Portugal in the 60's and has published several CD's and cassettes of folk music.

 

 

Under her maiden name - Susan King - Sue performs classical music and renaissance songs performing regularly in concerts and arts centres in the West Country

As well as her solo performance, Sue combines with the great talents of musician and composer Tony Taylor, to perform Celtic music and Rock & Roll. She also performs authentic Renaissance songs with lute accompaniment by the lutenist Ben Salfield. Ben and Sue are in the process of making their first CD of renaissance songs. This will be issued early in 2002 under the title "Elizabethan Lute Songs". She also forms part of a folk trio, the Goonhillies who play Celtic and Bluegrass Music. Sue and Tony also play with a folk rock band playing classics from the Byrds, Bob Dylan and many others as well as Tony's own compositions. In addition Sue has issued a CD of lieder in collaboration with local baritone, Jeremy Davies,
